The Eugene Mission is a homeless shelter providing meals, safe shelter, clothing, social services and the restorative message of God’s love for homeless men, women and children of the Eugene and Lane County communities. We have three Centers – one each for Men, Women, and Mothers and Children.
The mission of the organization was born out of the biblical directive to love God and love our neighbors. The ministry of the Eugene Mission can be summed up in four simple words:
We have been providing these services since 1956 in Eugene, Oregon. Learn more about our history. Our average of 400-600 daily guests come from all over the northwest, and some from across the country. In a given year, we provide over 220,000 meals, 110,000 beds, and direction to a myriad of social services for those seeking assistance. Every guest who walks through our doors is welcomed with the love of God, and is offered hope by the meeting of their immediate practical needs, and through sharing of the restorative Gospel message of Jesus Christ.
In addition to the services we give every guest, we offer a one-year Life Change program for men and women who desire to end the cycle of behaviors that led them to homelessness and learn about how God can give them true hope. This program is led by both staff and community volunteers, and is a centerpiece of the ministry of the Eugene Mission. The goal for each Life Change member upon graduation from the program is to have the ability to live independently of the Mission with a church, a mentor, housing, and employment.
The generous Lane County community offers support in the form of donations of food, clothing, money, time and prayers. We are a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, and all donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed.
Our facility is located at 1542 West 1st Avenue in Eugene and we can be reached at (541)344-3251. Please contact us if we can answer your questions or assist in any way.
We are here to offer hope to the homeless, and eager to serve.
